I teach 3rd grade in public school.  My purpose is to document the facts and emotions of teaching, as I experience it.

To protect identities and feelings, I will use pseudonyms.

     Places

• Duckfarm School (DS) = my school
• Duckfarm County = my county and school district
• Duckfarm State = the state in which Duckfarm School is located

     People

• Ann, Sophia, John, Yasmin = my fellow 3rd grade teachers (2012-13)
• Astrid = 3rd grade assistant (2012-13)
• Administration, The = principal and assistant principal
• The Board = employees of the school board, the "civil servants" of the system
• The "Reformers" = those attempting to pass laws to improve U.S. education
